7th Queensland Coastal Conference
Future Coasts - Queensland's Coast in 50 years
7th Queensland Coastal Conference at Mantra Legends, Surfers Paradise
21 & 22 August, 2019
The Australian Coastal Society and the Queensland Coastal Conference Steering Committee invites you to join us for the 7th Queensland Coastal Conference, to be held at Mantra Legends at Surfers Paradise on the iconic Gold Coast on the 21st and 22nd of August 2019.
Entering our 12th year, the conference is a biannual event that brings together scientists, engineers, planners, managers, policy makers, and practitioners from across Queensland's coastal community to discuss issues, share ideas, and identify solutions.
At this conference, we are looking forward to 50 years from now to imagine what the Queensland coast could look like in 2069. Over the next 50 years, ours and the next generations have the opportunity to shape, manage and conserve Queensland's coastline through innovation and change. We invite you to bring your best and most out of the box ideas.
We look forward to catching up, discussing new ideas, and sharing information with you all.
Who Will Attend
As Queensland's primary multidisciplinary coastal conference, the event will bring together a wide range of coastal professionals and advocates from government, universities and research centres, regional bodies, consultancies, industry, and non-for-profits. Delegates will come from a broad spectrum of disciplines including coastal science, engineering, and management, planning, policy, natural resource management, catchment management, community engagement, social science, media studies, and cultural research. The conference will provide a forum to exchange knowledge, share experience, offer different perspectives, discuss challenges, and present cutting edge developments in the field.
